Se enfoca en identificar los puntos cr\u00edticos del sistema, que son aquellos en los que una peque\u00f1a variaci\u00f3n en los par\u00e1metros puede provocar una &#8220;cat\u00e1strofe&#8221; o cambio abrupto en el comportamiento del sistema.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta teor\u00eda es particularmente efectiva para el an\u00e1lisis de sistemas din\u00e1micos que representan fen\u00f3menos naturales y, por su naturaleza, no pueden ser descritos con precisi\u00f3n mediante c\u00e1lculo diferencia<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una de las principales herramientas de la teor\u00eda de cat\u00e1strofes es el uso de funciones singulares para describir aspectos de transiciones en las que el comportamiento del sistema cambia abruptamente. La caracter\u00edstica de singularidad se puede visualizar usando un diagrama llamado &#8220;diagrama de Tom&#8221;.
