Fue creado por Ivan Sutherland como parte de su tesis doctoral en el MIT (Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Massachusetts). Este fue la influencia para la creaci\u00f3n de herramientas muy usados en la actualidad como el dise\u00f1o asistido por ordenador (CAD). Fue pionero en el uso de y la programaci\u00f3n orientada a objetos (POO) y la interfaz gr\u00e1fica de usuario (GUI). Esto se realiz\u00f3 de modo que cualquier persona pudiera usarlo, y no fuera exclusivo para ingenieros. Gracias al uso del l\u00e1piz \u00f3ptico, invento de los a\u00f1os 50 permiti\u00f3 que su uso se extendiera a dise\u00f1adores y arquitectos. As\u00ed mismo que fomentaba la relaci\u00f3n entre humano &#8211; ordenador por lo mencionado anteriormente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, Sketchpad abri\u00f3 la puerta al desarrollo de los computadores modernos y los smartphones hoy en d\u00eda. Era un programa completamente interactivo, a diferencia de otros creados en la misma \u00e9poca. Igualmente, esta invenci\u00f3n represento un gran cambio en las m\u00e1quinas de c\u00f3mputo. Se considera uno de los avances m\u00e1s importantes de la inform\u00e1tica moderna. Eso sin contar en los avances en el guardado de archivos que se logr\u00f3 con la creaci\u00f3n del Sketchpad. Sin contar con la opci\u00f3n de editar despu\u00e9s cuando fuera necesario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/niixer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Sutherland-1024x597.png\" alt=\"Sketchpad probado por Ivan Sutherland\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo funcionaba?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fue implementado en una <a href=\"https:\/\/niixer.com\/?s=computadora\">computadora<\/a> Lincoln TX-2, una m\u00e1quina muy innovadora para su \u00e9poca. Esta ten\u00eda caracter\u00edsticas como un n\u00facleo impulsado por tubos al vac\u00edo para el procesamiento de aproximadamente 4000 palabras. As\u00ed mismo, pose\u00eda un lector de cinta de papel y tambi\u00e9n pod\u00eda usar una cinta magn\u00e9tica como almacenamiento auxiliar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, usaba estructuras de memoria para el almacenamiento de objetos. Esta computadora ten\u00eda una gran pantalla y un l\u00e1piz \u00f3ptico. Con el l\u00e1piz \u00f3ptico, el usuario posicionaba los trazos del dibujo en la pantalla, adem\u00e1s de rotar, mover y escalar las figuras. No solo eso, sino que ten\u00eda la capacidad de realizar zoom a las figuras en la pantalla. Con un control de botones separado de la computadora, se realizaban acciones como deshacer, borrar, etc. La computadora usaba la tecnolog\u00eda pantalla-osciloscopio que era compatible con el l\u00e1piz \u00f3ptico. Usaba un plotter a modo de dispositivo de salida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En cuanto al sistema de trazos, este estaba compuesto de 17 par\u00e1metros. Entre las opciones se inclu\u00edan trazos verticales, horizontales, perpendiculares, paralelos, alineados, trazos del mismo tama\u00f1o, etc. Los par\u00e1metros se combinaban para crear figuras m\u00e1s complejas. El aplicativo permit\u00eda visualizar todas las opciones de par\u00e1metros disponibles por medio de iconos.
